The Michigan Senate just passes a bill yesterday that allows you to bring your pups out to dinner with you! On the patio though, of course.

MLive reports that previously, laws prohibited non-service dogs at all restaurants (including patios) because of health concerns. With this new law, dogs are allowed on restaurant patios, with some rules in place... The patio area needs to be free of dog hair as well as cleaned and disinfected on a regular basis, pups need to be leashed, and employees must wash their hands after petting any dogs.

Don't be too quick to leash up your doggy and go to dinner; the bill " lets local governments and restaurants decide if this is something they'd like to take on." So even with the law, restaurants can still say no to dogs at dinner. Read more about this change HERE.
