According to Metro, in the U.K., scientists from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee have discovered that spiders can count. They know this because they went to beautiful Costa Rica, found some spiders, gave them larvae - and then took them away - causing them to look for their larvae. So that's why spiders know you're alone in your basement before they drop down onto you.

Of course, the research paper probably took hundreds of pages to explain all of that, but hey - some people from Wisconsin got a paid vacation to Costa Rica, so....

Kids - this is proof that if you hang in there, the homework gets more fun.
