Navy SEAL who shot Bin Laden – ID’d – by his dad

Next Tuesday and Wednesday, the Fox News Network is airing a two night special titled, "The Man Who Shot Usama Bin Laden". (You say Usama, I say Osama...) According to the Navy Times, Tom O'Neill has told the Daily Mail in Great Britain that it was his son, Rob O' Neill who delivered the fatal shot. That's despite reports that nobody could actually agree in the MISSION DEBRIEFING who actually killed Bin Laden.

And this is all despite the fact that SEALS are not supposed to say anything about your "work", in part due to the fact that when you do, you're opening up yourself, your teammates and your family to retribution from the bad guys you've been messing with. I'm sure it would have been no secret after Tuesday, but I'm sure this can't be happy news to his other SEAL Team members, who continue to keep quiet.

I know we have plenty of current and former active military members who listen to WITL and some may read these blogs. I'm wondering how they feel about O' Neill putting himself "out there" like this?
