According to Mlive.com, Ludington State Park officials are looking for more information about a long wooden object after it washed up on the Lake Michigan shoreline. Park officials believe the strange object may be part of a shipwreck or a piece of old jetties. The jetties were installed in the 1940's and 1960's to provide barriers against erosion during times of high water levels along the shoreline.

Park officials plan to talk to a marine archaeologist to get some more help in determining the source of the 15-foot piece of wood. Personally, I hope that it's part of a shipwreck because that version sounds much cooler. (But that's just me...) To read more about the mystery object, click here.
