Time to check in with more military personnel from Mid-Michigan. Today's sailor is Petty Officer 1st Class Christine Adams, from Grand Ledge. Petty Officer Adams is a 2005 graduate of Grand Ledge High School.

Adams is now a naval air crewman serving with Naval Test Wing Atlantic, based out of Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland. "Pax River" as it's known, is the home of the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School and is where all naval aircraft systems undergo testing. Petty Officer Adams' job is listening for submarines. She is assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron VX-20, which is involved in testing systems used by (among other aircraft) the P-8 Poseidon and the P-3C Orion, both of which are used to search for enemy submarines.

According to a Navy Office of Community Outreach press release, “I love the travel aspect of my job,” said Adams. “While flying you see things that most people don't see - I see the beauty of the world.”

Bottom line: Christine's got a cool job.
