Lapeer, in the thumb of Michigan, is now home to a 250 acre DTE Energy "solar park", containing over 200,000 solar panels. According to MLive.com, that should generate power for 11,000 homes.

The construction on the project started in the spring of 2016.

I don't think this will be the last (or the biggest) of these in Michigan.

To celebrate this thing coming on-line DTE has scheduled a Lapeer Solar Celebration from 11 to 4 this Saturday. To get registered, go to lapeersolar.app.rsvpify.com. They'll have a hayride tour of the solar park, food and entertainment.

And plenty of mirrors to check your look.
