Yesterday, as a part of Women's History Month, thirty-one "Rosie the Riveters", from Michigan, were honored with a special Honor Flight to Washington D.C. These thirty-one women had all helped build B-24 bombers during World War II at the Willow Run bomber plant. According to MLive.com, the "Rosies" visited the capitol building, went to a luncheon in their honor at the Library of Congress, and visited the World War II Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery. Then it was back home to Detroit.

Here's a great film from 1943, about how these women, among others, helped produce the weapons that overwhelmed the Axis nations during the war.
