The Mackinac Bridge was shut down for several hours on Tuesday because of falling ice. According to Mlive, hunks of ice were falling more than 300 feet from the cables and towers of the bridge. Of course if the bridge had stayed open, those giant hunks of ice would've landed on cars! (Which would've been rather unpleasant.) Thankfully, no injuries or damage were reported. You can see some of the ice falling in these videos courtesy of YouTube.
