Michigan’s Melon Heads – Scary Monsters or Private School Geeks?

One of the urban legends that's floated around Michigan for quite some time has been the story of the Melon Heads. Frankly, the base of the story was pretty insensitive, but the Melon Heads were small, scary humanoids, with bulbous heads, who lived in tunnels beneath western Michigan and came out to attack.

Or, they might have been young religious geeks in school, named that because mean kids thought they must have huge brains. It's your choice. According to ClickOnDetroit.com, sightings of the Melon Heads continue to this day.

I'm sure the small scary humanoids with bulbous heads made for a better movie. But, I could be wrong. You ever watch Dead Poets Society?
