Michigan Voters Need To Vote In The Primary & Prove The Experts Wrong
The 'experts' say that a lack of contested statewide races at the top of Michigan's primary ballot means that voter turnout on Tuesday, August 5th will be very low. For what is thought to be the first time in Michigan history, Republican and Democratic primaries for both governor and U.S. Senate in the same year are uncontested, therefore, less people will head to the primaries. The lowest statewide turnout for an August primary was apparently back in 1990, when 1 million people cast a ballot.
Some political consultants say that they won't be surprised if fewer than 1 million voters will participate in the primary election this year. So, Don and I are urging you to go vote on Tuesday to increase the vote total and prove the 'experts' wrong. (Banana Don has even gone as far as to suggest that polling locations pass out ice cream and/or beer in order to encourage people to head to the polls.)
Polls will be open from 7am to 8pm and for more information on the ballot, click here.
