Well, they tried again this year in Holland to break the record for dancing in wooden shoes and unfortunately, they failed (again). According to Mlive, organizers of the event say that this year's event actually drew fewer participants than last year's event. Last year they had around 1,700 dancers participate in the wooden shoe dancing and this year they had just under 1,000 people. (The record is 2,600 dancers.)

However, even though they didn't break the record, organizers say the event brought in a pretty big amount for charity. Last year's event raised nearly $30,000 for Bethany Christian Services, an adoption support agency. Click here to see some photos of the record-breaking attempt. Unfortunately, if you were planning to participate in next year's potential record-breaking event, you're out of luck. Organizers say that they will likely take a few years off from another record-breaking attempt. Dang it!
