According to Mlive, the Tall Ships Challenge will be visiting the Great Lakes later this year. The fleet of 20 tall ships will sail the lakes over the course of four months. They have scheduled port stops and races on lakes Ontario, Erie, Huron, Michigan and Superior between July and September.

The ships that are planning to participate this year include the El Galeon Andalucia, a replica of a galleon that was part of Spain’s West Indies Indies fleet, and the Dragon Harald Fairhar, a replica Viking long ship built in Norway. There's good news for all of us in Michigan because they are scheduled to port in Bay City in July. For a complete list of port locations and to see some cool pictures of the tall ships, click here.
