If you hadn't heard, the Michigan State men's soccer team is headed to the College Cup. According to MSUSpartans.com, it's the first time since 1968 that Michigan State has advanced to the College Cup. That was a very special year for the Spartans because that's when they won the national title.

Here's what you need to know about the game:

  • Michigan State is one of three Big Ten Conference teams in the College Cup (Indiana and Maryland will also be competing in the College Cup)
  • The Spartans will play Akron on Friday, December 7th at 8 pm in Santa Barbara, California
  • The game will be featured on ESPNU
  • If the Spartans win Friday night, they will advance to the National Championship match that will be held on Sunday, December 9th at 8pm. That game will also be televised on ESPNU.
