According to the Jackson Citizen Patriot, a middle school principal in Parma, Michigan is being credited with saving a student who was choking. Earlier this week, Western Middle School Principal Ryan Tripp, performed the Heimlich maneuver on an eighth-grade girl who had food lodged in her throat during lunch.

Officials with the school say that the student got up from the lunch table and walked toward Tripp while motioning that she was choking. That's when Tripp began the Heimlich maneuver. School officials say the student was "a little shaken up but is doing well." If you're unfamiliar with how to perform the Heimlich maneuver, here's a 'how-to' video from YouTube:
