I'm a big fan of "vanity" license plates. I'm too cheap to get one myself, but I enjoy seeing a well crafted personalized Michigan license plate. According to the Lansing State Journal, there are 300,000 in circulation right now, but the Secretary of State has an office that determines what is acceptable and un-acceptable when it comes to what you can put on those plates. And the list is long. There are over 27,000 words or combinations of letters you can NOT have on your plate. Including BEER and BREWER - in one of the biggest brewing states in the country. I guess we just have to get a little sneakier.

Here's the story, with some samples of what you can't have, plus a link to the scribd.com site with the whole list.
