According to WOOD-TV, authorities have arrested a 29 year old man from Redford Township for stealing a Salvation Army donation kettle. Officials say Eric Heinemen took the kettle that was outside a Walgreens in Farmington Hills. The kettle was stolen when a volunteer bell ringer manning the kettle went inside the Walgreens and left the kettle outside.

Images from a surveillance video and a tip led to Heineman's arrest. He was arraigned on Sunday and held on $5,500 bound. His next court date is scheduled for later this week. The story does have somewhat of a happy ending...officials say that members of the Farmington Hills Police Department raised $248 and an anonymous donor chipped in $300 to make up for the stolen money.
