In May 1996, an episode of "Seinfeld" called "The Bottle Deposit" aired for the first time. In this episode, Kramer and Newman attempt to take a mail-truck full of recyclable bottles from New York (where the deposit is 5 cents) to Saginaw, Michigan, to collect the 10 cent Michigan deposit.

Well, according to LivingstonDaily.com, some guy from the Thumb just got arraigned in Livingston County court after he was stopped for speeding, south of Flint on northbound U.S. 23. He had a BUNCH of out of state recyclable bottles somewhere in his rental vehicle (according to the story - the REAL trouble starts when you're trying to return at least 10,000 bottles - so I don't think he was driving a Prius)

Here's the whole story.
