A man hunting for porcupine, out of a ground blind, was attacked by a black bear last Thursday night in Clare County, Michigan. According to CBS Detroit, the man sustained minor injuries and the bear ran off after the hunter stabbed it with his knife.

Here are my questions:

1. Porcupine hunting? If YOU'VE hunted them before - why? Do you eat the meat? I've never even seen one in the woods, but I understand they chew up trees pretty bad.

2. Was this hunter armed only with a knife? I understand he may have had another weapon that he may have dropped when he was attacked, but - I'm surprised that he didn't get more seriously injured by the bear.

3. A ground blind hunt for porcupine? This must be the least exciting hunt in the world.

Well, except for when bears attack you.
