So, there's this thing that glows in the sky....and apparently we really haven't seen a lot of so far this year.

According to Mlive, there truly has been a big lack of sunshine this month in Michigan. Weather experts have two ways of measuring sunshine. (You can read more about that by clicking here.)

But the bottom line is, it's been gloomy. Here's the Mlive breakdown of the times some areas in Michigan have actually seen the sun:

  • Grand Rapids has had no clear days in January 2017
  • Flint has had three sunny days
  • Detroit and Gaylord had two sunny days
  • Sault Sainte Marie and Traverse City have had one clear, sunny day this month

Unfortunately, there aren't any numbers for the Lansing area. (Can someone please come up with that research?) I'm no weather expert, but I'm guessing we've only had two sunny days so far this year in Lansing. What do you think?
