Michigan Has First Case Of Bubonic Plague
According to the Detroit Free Press, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has confirmed a case of bubonic plague in a Marquette County resident who recently returned from Colorado. Officials say that the adult is receiving treatment and say that there is no danger of human-to-human transmission.
This is Michigan's first case of bubonic plague. Nationally, there have been 14 cases and four people died from the disease. To learn more about the bubonic plague, click here.
