According to CBS-Detroit, sometime on Monday night, in the eagle nest being watched by Eagle Cam - (at the Platte River State Fish Hatchery) - one of the eggs hatched! Here's the original article about this nest from last week.

The mom's covering up the new eagle most of the time, while (I'm assuming) waiting for the other egg to hatch.

My research (Wikipedia) shows that sometimes the older chick will kill the younger one. Uh-oh. Nature - not quite the Disney cartoon I was promised.

And it'll be about 4 months before this eagle flies, so sit back and enjoy the show.

Here's the story - with the first baby photo.
