Michigan DNR Says Morel Mushrooms Have Been Spotted
Over the weekend, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources posted on their Facebook page that morel mushrooms were being spotted in southern Michigan and were making their way up north. Once the posted that update, the pictures started rolling in from many locations in Michigan where people have spotted morel mushrooms.
If you need a little help in finding some morels yourself, there are several maps available online that show where people have had some luck finding morel mushrooms. One map/website in particular, TheGreatMorel.com, has tons of locations marked throughout the United States and even denotes what month those mushrooms were spotted. If you haven't seen that map, you can check it out by clicking here.
Also, Michigan.org has a great article about morel mushroom hunting in Michigan with some good tips included, too. You can see that article by clicking here. With all the recent rain, I would imagine you'll be able to find your fair share! Good luck!
