Several businesses in the Upper Peninsula are trying something new this year when it comes to collecting donations for our veterans. Instead of using your typical plastic donation jar, the companies are using military boots as receptacles for donations to collect money for veterans in need. According to The Sault News, the change seems to be working as they raised more than $2,500 last month which was a lot more than the previous month.

I'm sure that if you or your business would like to be a part of this (even though we're way down here in the Lower Peninsula) they'd love your help! You can call Rudy Johnson at (906) 420-2325. Or maybe you could start your own program! :)
