According to MLive.com, right-handed pitcher Casey Mize, from the Auburn Tigers, is the newest Detroit Tiger. Well, he was drafted by the Tigers as the number one overall draft pick last night. Casey and the Auburn Tigers will next take on the Florida Gators in the NCAA Baseball Super Regionals. We'll see how far Auburn gets in the playoffs and at some point Casey will head off to the Tigers' farm club system.

And, somebody we may see soon, here in Lansing, is Jordan Groshans. According to TheStar, Jordan was taken in the draft by the Toronto Blue Jays - the parent club of the Lansing Lugnuts. Jordan is a high school shortstop out of Magnolia, Texas. Here's the story.

In day two of the draft, happening today, watch for Jordan's teammate, Adam Kloffenstein, to be drafted. If it happens (and it probably will), according to Sporting News, it'll be the first time two high school teammates have been taken in the MLB draft since 2012. Here's the story.

Welcome - and good luck to both Casey and Jordan.
