Just in time for all of the holiday traveling, gas prices in Michigan are on the decline again. According to AAA, gas prices in Michigan dropped an average of 8 cents last week and the average price at the pump in Michigan was $2.26. Triple A says that's about 35 cents less than what Michigan motorists paid on Christmas day in 2017.

The number of people that will be driving this holiday season is quite impressive. According to AAA, 3.3 million Michigan drivers plan to travel in the next two weeks and  approximately 102.1 million Americans will be driving this holiday.

So, where are the highest gas prices and the lowest gas prices in Michigan? Here's the breakdown from AAA:

  • Most expensive gas price averages: Marquette ($2.37), Ann Arbor ($2.32), Metro Detroit ($2.28)
  • Least expensive gas price averages: Flint ($2.17), Jackson ($2.19), and Saginaw-Bay City-Midland ($2.19)
