Chicago now has over 2000 coyotes living in the downtown area. According to National Geographic, these coyotes are thriving, having bigger litters than coyotes living in rural areas because there's so much food available. And it's not "people food", but birds and rabbits and squirrels that they're eating.

They come out at night to hunt and defend their territory and then they sleep all day - sometimes feet away from busy sidewalks. Researchers found that one family of coyotes was living in a concrete den in the parking lot of Soldier Field. So be careful if you go tailgating there.
