Longtime Lansing Bar Reopening As New Pub This May

The time is nigh...

Just a few more finishing touches are needed before longtime Lansing bar, formerly Art's Bar, reopens as Art's Pub. According to the Lansing State Journal, the new owners are aiming for a May debut. And, there's going to be a mix of old and new!

First and foremost, if you know anything about anything about Art's Bar... you know it was all about their pizza! Well, no worries... they're bringing it back! Nick Sinicropi, one of the co-owners of Art's Pub, said "We own the recipe, we bought the rights from the originator, from the Portland Party store, that's where it came from." So, you'll be able to enjoy your favorites, along with some funky new ones; there are some pizzas with seafood, there's one that's reminiscent of summer with baked beans on it, and there's even one with macaroni!

Sadly, the wall murals couldn't be saved in their original form, because they were painted directly on the dry wall that was glued on the brick behind it. So, they did the next best thing. They had a someone come in and take the best photos of the murals that they could, they print them out, so you'll still see them on the walls!

Even with keeping some of the old, if you were an Art's Bar customer, you may not even recognize it when you go in. There's no more carpet, instead there will be "a hickory bar floor [,] stained with Swedish oil", a new concrete bar, heated restrooms, and LOTS of funky new menu items.
