It's now tradition for head coaches to get showered with Gatorade after winning a big game like the Super Bowl. But who was the first to get a "Gatorade Shower"? When was it? And what player came up with the idea? (apparently as revenge after the targeted head coach had been pushing him pretty hard at practice the previous week)

According to Rolling Stone, the first Gatorade bath during a regular season game was October 28, 1984 when the New York Giants beat Washington. Jim Burt was the player who drenched head coach Bill Parcells. On January 25, 1987, Bill Parcells got the first Super Bowl Gatorade shower when the Giants beat the Broncos in Super Bowl XXI, but this time it was linebacker Harry Carson who did the honors. Caught up in the "after splash"? One Bill Belicheck - at that time defensive coordinator of the Giants and now head coach of the Patriots.
