Jim Lange, former disc jockey and longtime host of "The Dating Game", passed away yesterday at his home in California.

Jim spent years as a disc jockey in San Francisco and Los Angeles. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, his wife said, "As much as he's known for his television work, his real love was radio." And Jim once told the Bay Area Radio Digest, "Good radio is still the most fun", and added, "you don't have to wear makeup and you don't have to shave." I concur. I spent a LOT of afternoons after school watching "The Dating Game". And through the years working in radio, I worked with a few guys who had actually been on the show, trying to make their big break in Hollywood at the time.
