Jenn Drake, from Indian River, is about to become Michigan's only female hunting guide. According to Lydia Lohrer of the Free Press, the state permit should be in Jenn's hands in a few weeks. She'll be eligible to lead hunters looking for small or big game - so, if you get an elk or bear tag next year - she can guide you right to them.

Jenn is barely five feet tall, but she's a single mom who's already beaten cancer and survived a brutal accident involving a horse. And she's in it to be not only a guide, but a teacher. According to Jenn, “A lot of the guides just take you out there and put you on an animal. I want to teach people to find the animal, so when they’re done with me they can learn to do it on their own.”

Good hunting, Jenn.
