Today is the state's 12th annual adoption day. Michigan Adoption Day is held each year on or about the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Michigan Supreme Court Justice Mary Beth Kelly will finalize some adoptions today at the Supreme Court in Lansing, along with judges from Ionia, Ingham and Oakland counties. About 2,160 kids in foster care were adopted in fiscal year 2014 and another 2,500 children are hoping to be adopted. The Michigan Supreme Court has provided much more information about Michigan Adoption Day on their website, you can access that page by clicking here.
