At this time, the Ingham County Animal Control Shelter is extremely full. In addition to the normal uptick of cats and dogs that the shelter normally takes in in the summer, they've also taken in lots "of cats and dogs through enforcement of the animal cruelty laws." So, to reduce the over crowding, the Ingham County Animal Control Shelter is doing NO FEE adoptions.

These no fee adoptions for both cats and dogs will continue until "shelter population drops to a more manageable level." So if you're looking for a new furry friend, now is the perfect time to adopt, don't shop.

All cats and dogs that the Ingham County Animal Control adopts out "are spayed or neutered, have received a vet exam and age appropriate vaccines and are microchipped." They only thing you'll have to pay for is a dog license, and only if you're adopting a dog. The only thing left before you take your new furry friend home is to get the adoption approved by the shelter staff, and you're all set!
