1956 - Homer Simpson, fictional character from the long running television show "The Simpsons" ("The Simpsons" was originally a sketch run on "The Tracey Ullman Show" in 1987.  It premiered as it's own prime-time show in December 1989 and is now is it's 26th season.  It has been renewed for Season #27 & #28.  "The Simpsons" is the longest-running American sitcom, the longest-running American animated program and the longest-running American scripted primetime television series.
