Hospitals Concerned About Enterovirus
Have you heard about 'Enterovirus D68'? It is the respiratory illness that is affecting hundreds of children across the United States and is serious enough that many of those children have been hospitalized. The Enterovirus isn't usually fatal, but it can be very dangerous for kids with asthma.
According to CNN, ten states which include Colorado, North Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Kentucky have contacted the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention about the illness. At this point, no cases have been reported in Michigan but doctors say that the number of children affected in the Midwest and the unusually high number of hospitalizations has officials very concerned.
