Get ready for the big change at HopCat.

In December, HopCat announced that it would be changing the name of one of its signature items; their french fries. Their french fries were originally named crack fries to be tongue-in-cheek about the cracked peeper used to make the addictive-like fried item. However, CEO Mark Gray does not think that drug addiction is a joking matter, hence the name change.

According to the Lansing State Journal, the big change is coming on Monday, January 14th. All menus, website, and other references are ready to go for the big announcement on Monday. The change comes just in time for HopCat East Lansing's 11th Anniversary and Fry Eating contest on Saturday, January 19th.

There are no specifics on what the new name will be, but HopCat spokesperson Chris Knape thinks the name is cool and also representative of how the business got started. To read more about the name change, click here.
