Haslett’s Matt Borland gets new job in NASCAR

According to ESPN, Matt Borland, who grew up in Haslett, will be the new crew chief for Ty Dillon and the #13 car, owned by Germain Racing, in NASCAR's Monster Energy Cup series. This past season Matt was the crew chief for Paul Menard and the #27 car. Paul will now move to the #21 car for the Wood Brothers, replacing Ryan Blaney, who will drive the #12 car for Penske Racing. No word yet on what Childress will do with the #27, which is probably why Matt took the job with Germain Racing.
