Grand Rapids Company Issues Recall For Thousands Of Pounds Of Turkey

According to MLive, Michigan Turkey Producers of Grand Rapids has issued a recall of their turkey breast products... over 55,000 pounds!

The recall was issued after a costumer complaint about many of it's oven roasted turkey breast products being contaminated with "unidentified black material". The products part of the recall have the number "P-20935A" in the USDA mark of inspection. Below is a more detailed description of the products being recalled.

"The oven roasted turkey breast items (logs and sliced) were produced on Aug. 29, 2016 and Sept. 16, 2016. The following products are subject to recall:

• 12-lb. packages containing "MESON SANDWICHES, OVEN ROASTED SLICED TURKEY BREAST" with a use or freeze by date of 11/27/16, and a case code of "48598" on the left side of the label
• 22-lb. logs containing "OVEN ROASTED TURKEY BREAST WITH BROTH," with a use or freeze by date of 11/27/16, and a case code of "48576" on the left side of the label
• 22-lb. logs containing "OVEN ROASTED TURKEY BREAST WITH BROTH," with a use or freeze by date of 12/15/16, and a case code of "48576" on the left side of the label"
