One of my (and my wife's) winter projects is to get our CPLs. And just this week, it was announced that, as of December 1, CPL application fees will go up, but there will be one less step involved in getting one in Michigan.

In the past, according to Fox17online.com, county gun boards would interview CPL applicants before issuing the license. Now, the county clerks will still collect the applications, but the county gun boards have been eliminated, Michigan State Police will do background checks and county clerks will have to issue the license to qualified applicants within 45 days. And along with that, application fees will increase to $115.
