Let's hope the weather holds up next week.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the Perseids, a summertime meteor shower, will peak next Sunday and Monday (August 12th & 13th). If you're watching the skies next week, Space.com says that we should see about 70 meteors per hour. Plus, the moon won't obstruct the view of the shower at all because it will be a new moon.

If you want the best views, weather permitting, Astronomy magazine predicts that the 13th will be better than the 12th. To find the best view, make sure you look for the showers' name sake constellation; Perseus, which is just south of Cassiopeia.
