This week should be a good time for watching for shooting stars. There's a new moon, which means no pesky lunar light pollution and, according to the LA Times, two meteor showers are happening at about the same time.

So if the weather cooperates this week, you can sit out in your backyard (or somebody else's - but let's not be creepy about it) and see the oldest free show known to mankind.

And without all the drama and man-crying of "The Bachlorette"...and World Cup Soccer.
