Attentions Veterans! If you've been looking to add a furry friend to the family, today is a great day to do so!

According to a post on their Facebook page, the Capital Area Humane Society is extending their free adoptions for Veterans until 7 pm today. The promotion, which was originally held on the Saturday before Veterans Day, offers vets free adoptions on adult cats and adult dogs. Normally adult cats and dogs are $50 and $175, respectively, to adopt, but not today for veterans. It's just one way the Capital Area Humane Society is saying thanks for all you do for this country.

If you want to see if there's a cat or dog that would fit in with you and your family, Veterans can enjoy free adoptions until 7 pm today. However, if now's just not the right time, keep in mind that the Capital Area Humane Society has begun a new policy, allowing veterans AND active military a $50 discount on any adoption fee. In either case, just remember to bring your military ID. And get more info here.
