The father of the driver whom Tony Stewart fatally struck during a sprint car race last weekend says there was "no reason" for the accident that occurred on the track. Many published reports say that Stewart's car made contact with Kevin Ward Jr.'s car during a race in upstate New York and as the race continued, Ward appeared to walk from his car and toward Stewart's car. That's when Stewart's car struck the driver.

According to an article in the Syracuse Post Standard, Kevin Ward Sr. says his son's car "was definitely put into the wall" by Stewart. He also states, "Tony Stewart was the best damn driver by far on the track that night. Why he had to go up as high as he did and hog my son, there's no reason for it."
