Be on the lookout for some strange looking pennies in Michigan because they could be worth $1,000! According to the Detroit Free Press, Ally Bank is hoping to "encourage Americans to look for opportunities to save" through its 'Lucky Penny' promotion. For the promotion, the bank placed lucky pennies in different cities across the U.S. that are worth $1,000.

Here's a description of the penny: they have a copper color like real pennies, but feature the Detroit-based bank’s logo instead of Abraham Lincoln’s head and the flip side of the coin lists its value at 100,000 cents. If you find one, here's where you go to redeem it. (So far, Detroit is the only Michigan city listed as a possible location for the penny.)
