In Russia, everybody has dash cams in their vehicles. The real reason is that there's so much insurance fraud over there and you never know when somebody will back into you and then claim you hit them. The bonus is that you get millions of hours of video of crazy stuff that happens when people are on the road. Like plane crashes and meteors.
