They must have shown the Clint Eastwood movie, "Escape From Alcatraz" at the Macomb Correctional Facility recently, because two of the inmates attempted to break out Saturday - using the same trick the real guys used to get out of Alcatraz in 1962.

According to the Detroit Free Press, two cellmates in Macomb used their rolled up clothing under the sheets of their bunks to make it look like they were sleeping. A nice plan, but not fully thought out. When everybody was coming in from "the yard" for dinner, these two walked the other way. Toward the fence. They were caught before they got to the fence and, after an emergency check, prison officials figured out their (failed) plan.

Apparently, even though they were headed toward the fence, prison officials say they did NOT have any tools on them which would help them get over, under or through the fence. It's not known what their plan would've been at that point.

Dummies? Yes.
