Things in downtown Lansing are going to look a little bit different next year.

According to the Lansing State Journal, a local foundation completely funded "a new public art project to install a unique sculpture in the roundabout" in Downtown Lansing. And for the moment, the artist is not yet known.

A committee will be reviewing all those who would like to be the artist on this new project. And if you're an artist from Ingham, Eaton or Clinton Counties, you're already ahead of the game, because the preference is that the artist be local. After the committee selects finalists, "The Penny for Your Thoughts web platform will be used to capture the public's opinion on the finalists." If you're interested in submitting a project, it's due by Monday, July 23rd. Get more info here.
