"Le Nain Rouge", French for "the red dwarf", will be the star of a movie currently in production here in Michigan. According to MLive.com, "Nain Rouge" is being filmed in and around Detroit, including Lake Orion. The Red Dwarf was (according to Wikipedia) originally known as a protector of the Odawa people living near what is now Detroit. After the French settled there, Le Nain Rouge was known by the settlers as a "harbinger of doom". Since then "the red dwarf" has been blamed anytime something bad happened in Detroit - a fire in 1805, the War of 1812, the 1967 riots and the Tigers' Justin Verlander trade.

OK, maybe not that last one, but...

According to MLive, the movie will be out next year.
