"Bull Durham" is one of the great movies from the 80s. And, in fact, Sports Illustrated named it the BEST sports movie of all time. "Bull Durham" is the story of pro baseball catcher "Crash" Davis, who's sent down to the Durham Bulls to teach "Nuke" LaLoosh about pitching and life. Near the end of the movie, Crash is released from the Bulls and joins the Asheville Tourists, where he breaks the record for career home runs (247) in the minor leagues.

Well, according to the Free Press, the real thing just happened on Monday night in Toledo. Mike Hessman, who plays for the Toledo Mud Hens (a Detroit Tigers Triple A farm club) broke the real record for minor league career home runs, when he hit his 433rd in the minors. That record had stood since 1937, when a guy named Buzz Arlett had finished with 432.
