A tragic and strange story out of Detroit this morning where police say the driver of a truck that hit a pedestrian bridge over a Detroit freeway, causing it to collapse, has died. The freeway was closed from Interstate 96 to Joy Road during rush hour. The Michigan Department of Transportation and state police say they weren't sure how long the roadway would be closed.

The other part of this story is that Detroit Lions Quarterback, Matthew Stafford, was one of the first people on the scene. According to Mlive.com, Stafford was on his way to meetings at the Lions' nearby practice facility and was among the first motorists on the scene. The Lions say Stafford was unharmed in the incident. He was seen talking to police at the scene, then abandoned his car and was escorted to the practice facility by a team employee.
