Neil Olson is 89 years old, lives in Wisconsin  and hasn't taken his (at one time) LIVE Christmas tree down since 1974. He actually has a good reason. He says he won't take it down until all of his sons come back to his house for Christmas. His eldest son was injured in the Vietnam War and hasn't been able to make the trip home since.

So, Neil keeps the tree up. Even though the tree is dead, the needles have stayed on and the lights are still up, even though he's afraid to turn them on because the tree would "blow up" like an "atomic bomb". I bet his insurance agent is happy to hear that.
